CW: Homophobia, hate speech Sky launched its programme for Pride 2024 with a ringing declaration the company was “proud to celebrate LGBTQ+ stories”. But while it was posting shiny videos claiming to be “proud of who we are”, the firm was funding anti-LGBTQ+ hate by placing ads on GB News. The latest example of GB News spreading this hatred came on 22 January, when a presenter repeated a dangerous lie linking LGBTQ+ people to paedophilia. This prompted more than 65,000 complaints to Ofcom, as the British public took a stand against toxic homophobia.
