I think the trouble is that they’ve zoomed in on the narratives involving the biggest names and lost the perspective that they are small party of a very big galaxy. There’ll be large parts that won’t even be aware of these goings on.

I’ve never read a book of hers either but did enjoy the TV series of Rivals. Which I watched with my wife who has read her books and who’s description of them made Dame Jilly seem like the Romance genre version of Lee Childs (no insult I enjoy a bit of Reacher)

I was aware the Ragnar v Ghaz was just the Red Waaagh with names changed but what the hell happened to Helbrecht. He’s been chasing Ghaz since Armageddon 3 and can’t get there but Ragnar just slips in for the scrap. Sounds like the Templar might be ducking the showdown
