Society losses any semblance of ethical foundation. Much like authoritarians, fascists and narcissistic sociopaths, who lie constantly in order to wear down the will of the people in order to rule by falsehood and intimidation, ai tears away the ethical fabric of the individual and society.

Artificial Intelligence, like authoritarians & fascists, is foundational to our burgeoning dystopian society. Ai, a nefarious actor, makes us feel special, capable of things we are not. When in reality, we are but dishonest children playing with toys.

These are facts. People who lie and cheat, who justify their behavior, DO NOT trust others. There is no firm ground for the liar and cheat to stand upon. And, if millions are using ai, there is no firm ground for society, for humanity to stand upon.

This degradation of personal ethics can and will erode the bonds which bind our shared, ethical humanity.
If you literally cannot trust yourself to differentiate between what you worked hard to create via years of practice & skill, and what an ai model generated, you will not trust others.

Disturbingly, there are actual artists, who possess hard won actual skills: painting, guitar playing, story writing, who are prompting ai to get ideas until there's one they like (many call it inspiration). They then take the ai's generation and expand it, keeping the core of the ai's generation.
