Check on the Executive
This post lead me to seek out the judgment upholding Calley's conviction. It ends with this gem.

Wikipedia appears to agree it is good. And thank you for letting me know it might be watchable without watching the rest of the series. I missed DS9 went it was on TV, and am probably never going to get around to watching in full, so if there are some good standalones, that's helpful to know.

This report quotes the Police Minister as both being disappointed it happened and fully supporting those who did it.

First the tweet.
Second, his one paragraph summary in the linked piece

Have I missed something or does the word glockenspiel have two meanings? Of all the words to have two meanings, is glockenspiel the most?

The obscure animated (barely tbh) show I do remember from the repeats in my youth is probably this one.

It's wholly unlike anything else I remember seeing growing up.

For, uh, reasons...

Not sufficiently obscure :-)

There are lots of ways you can cast your vote without even finding a mail box. Lots of supermarkets have orange bins. If you drop it off at the library they may even have "I Voted" stickers!

I'm not sure that parenthetical captures the ruling all that well.
Brownlee was involved in that incident (which was about Phillida Bunkle), and the Speaker reflected that he perhaps ought to have named Bunkle.

This was mine.
Better value, I expect.

In person evidence from the Clerk on a bill has happened twice this year.

There was also in-person evidence on a petition last year and other non-bills.

(This is not a correction! Certain committees - eg Justice - would see this more often)

Having read the bill, I'm not sure why you think this is about banning Pride Flags, and not banning other displays NZ First finds offensive, like this one at the Waiouru Army Museum, and also this ANZAC ceremony.

The claim that 30 minutes is New Zealand's longest ever ad is way off.

It completely ignores this 60 minute long ACC ad

A teen of Ms Jones' age who was prosecuted at all for a minor assault (which I would suggest is unlikely in the circumstances) would have been prosecuted in the Youth Court, where permanent name suppression is automatic.

I commented on the piece yesterday. The reply did not fill me with confidence in the legal abilities of the School of Psychology at the University of Otago.

Sounds great. Maybe someone should put that in a law?
