OK. I've finally got round to joining @bsky.app . But where's Nathan W Pyle ??
All populists are dangerous, feeding people what they want to hear, regardless of truth
I see him as nothing but an unintelligent wanna be politician who has moved around parties until be found one he could progress in.

He is more interested in promoting himself than any ideology or policy and will say whatever he wants to please people.

Populist through and through.

A couple of ideas from a non-expert.....
To show more "fight,"
🤔 remove all sense of entitlement from the organisation and most of the press.
🤔 increase the gene pool by reintroducing cricket across all state schools.

Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

Disappointingly unbalanced "reporting" here. If Phillip Turner is so much against he and his company paying more to the community for services such as NHS, army, potholes etc, he should have the decency to suggest who should pay instead.

Not really surprising. The Government needs to use this to demonstrate the damage of Brexit to our defence as well as economy - and target disaffected but pro-defence Tory & Reform voters.
The Government's priority of course as always is to appease Farage's fans so another opportunity to boost growth and repair our trade with Europe is wasted. The sooner the Labour Party ceases to exist the better for everyone.

Self-delusional arrogance.....

“We didn’t have the Test match that we wanted to, but we were great in passages of that game"

If it was a school, the England Cricket Team, esp the leadership team, would be judged as requiring "urgent improvement."

The democratic system of the UK has a real problem:
The people will only vote for the fantasy that they can get the services they expect without paying the taxes to pay for them.

All parties therefore have to avoid the unelectable truth, and be condemned for dishonesty when elected.

Good, though uncomfortable truth, here.

Labour has a responsibility to gain a second term. It's when the most good can be done.

For the many.....
If you want to keep the ECHR then keep Reform and the Tories out of government. Measures as announced by Mamood are probably the only way prevent the many from putting Farage in as PM. Want to take the risk? Look what is happening in the US. Farage is their puppet.

1 The uncomfortable truth is the people of our country are not as welcoming to "others" as you might imagine.

2 Govts in a democracy must govern by consent, which means not moving far away from majority views.

3 It would be irresponsible not to gain a vital 2nd term, when the most good can be done
I know this Labour government is doing some genuinely good things but I feel so despondent when I hear Labour politicians talk like this.
This is the politics of cowardice and I cannot abide political cowards.

Every time I hear a politician say that an issue is “dividing” this country they always then come down on the side of the right wing view of it. Just once I’d love to hear someone say “this issue is divisive, which is why I’m making the argument that kindness and compassion is important”

Ed gives us reasons to be hopeful: that measures are working.

But there is much more to do - and Labour are doing just that here in the UK.

But more importantly they are aiming to be world leaders to get other countries to take the necessary steps as well.
