If your parents like it it isn't cool. My daughter literally walked in today and accused me of gatekeeping the rest of Sir Mix-a-lot and I was like girl I've been playing classic hip hop your whole life but you didn't think it was cool because I played it. It's fun watching the kids find your tunes.

We are doing better now and my kids have all the cool shoes they want. But that angel tree shit was demoralizing at a really bad time. I later turned those disappointing shoes into craft time and it was fun. Because I'm a good parent. But I never reached out to the angel tree again.
