Midwest winters are a wild ride. It currently feels like -5 F, there are 50 mph wind gusts, we’ve been under a Lake Effect Snow Warning for almost a week, there is not one sunny day predicted for the next 10 days, but at least it’s going to be 50 degrees on Monday I guess?

Sometimes I randomly think about how the climate clock will run out in less than 5 years and how we will probably all live through one of the greatest humanitarian crises of all time, but it feels like everyone stopped talking about it. What a time to be alive.

It’s a quiet Sunday in mid-November. My house is in disarray with boxes of Christmas decor. Wrapping paper has taken over my dining table. Glitter is stuck to the walls and floors. A Christmas cookie scented candle is burning. Life is joyful.
