Surely a PSA test result just makes you more informed and better equipped to make a decision? It may give you a result that indicates a problem that you were completely unaware of.

I also understood that GPs will only allow a PSA test if you have symptoms.

There are other tests available, scans etc. I doubt they’d start treatment or operate on a single PSA test result. #c4news

I’m confused by the idea that a doctor can’t take what you’ve said into consideration.

Surely a GP/Oncologist will understand this, and will be able to make the correct decision. This suggests that a PSA screening programme will make doctors make incorrect/poor decisions, whereas the reality is that they will just have more information about the patient.
