I took Carl Sagan and Mr. Rogers seriously. My bad.

(BTW I have no desire to defend Sen. Schumer, I really was asking for clarification vis a vis senate rules and how much power he actually could exercise.)

Ah, so the GOP didn't bother to go whip up some Dem votes on their own, Schumer delivered them.

Wait, are you sure about that? The GOP has the majority, so they control the calendar and can schedule votes whenever they want; they just can't get around cloture under current rules. How can Sen. Schumer stop a vote from even happening?

On a related note: Hey, @npr.org, if I promise to send you some more money, do you think you could bestir yourselves to list all 8 names of the Democrats who sold out? I know it's extra work, and you have a lot going on, but it would be useful and relevant. Or do you have a strict word count?

Sending and receiving messages is still super efficient.

They are just intentionally designing a system in which no records are ever kept.

Lesson drawn from Nuremberg and the Nazis I suspect.

I think every American, especially rich ones like me, should be still and listen to it.

I think a better phrasing for this would be “the public isn’t swayed by anti trans rhetoric.”

A lot of us certainly do care about trans issues, but we are firmly on the opposite side of the GOP.
