Jesus christ, the spectral bat is huge. We need to start preparing terms of surrender immediately.

"Most likely" is an interesting and telling qualifier. There is a massive axiomatic advantage in strength and size.

The grip strength of a man in the 10th percentile is greater than the grip strength of a woman in the 90th percentile.

The average American man is 5 inches taller.

That's the start.

This to me sounds like a much more systemic issue than you might have personally experienced it as.

There were only a handful of sordid murders, but there were a lot of reckless kills.

Wait, hang on - Russia hasn't even agreed to this deal? Get all the fucking way out of here.

It's so Russia-friendly that I assumed it had Russia's blessing, but Putin must have recognized that he's dealing with one of the most incompetent negotiators in American history and thinks he can get more.

It's a great essay, and like much of what Peter Singer writes, requires you to attack an initial premise that he tries to slip right by you as if it's the most self-evidently true thing in the world:

Right, exactly. I think what the SAT measures very clearly is how brutally unfair it is to be born in a poor family.

"The SAT just measures your parents' income" isn't quite true, because truly brilliant poor kids break through, but poverty is clearly a monstrous weight on performance.

And like Sasho says, it's only recently as she seems to be trying to pivot that we're getting album covers like this. You can directly chart, as a seismologist might, the seriousness of Carpenter's attempts to get over with a straight male audience by the magnitude of the pearl-clutching.

"Missing your spot". And then calling the batter a motherfucker. A real mystery, here.

The fact that this reaction is 95% of my timeline heartens me greatly.

Okay, but what do you intend to do once you find out their names, bluesky? This kind of discourse is very much spiritually related to the "it was just a small death threat" discourse currently running in parallel on here.

Which primary source documents, in your opinion, most directly contradict this passage from Haig's private papers in which he records this statement from Petain?

A link would be deeply appreciated.

Like, looking at this chart (since IIRC most east coast wildfire smoke is from Canadian fires), it's strongly suggestive of 50+ years of overexuberant wildfire suppression.

It's this meme, essentially, with the left playing the green guy. The left cannot be the green guy if it wants to be viable. It *must* offer a viable solution for urban disorder.

Vancouverites are famous for saying things like "our housing supply doubled" when their population tripled during the same period, and "we've run out of room to build" when there's nothing taller than a bungalow outside of their downtown core.

They have emphatically not embraced YIMBY policy.

Yeah, yeah, I've seen this argument before. Muted.

This dipshit is absolutely saying that. I'm not on the anti-science side of this argument, you are.

Sure, Hannah Mouncey is the first that comes to mind.
