The logo is stylised using an original font of the developer's creation, as opposed to recreating existing logo types from the series, although the "I" will still animate upon pressing the Start button in a way well-established in Aliens-related media. The original first-person fangame was named "Aliens: Hunted"; the addition of "Grotesque Breed" to the title not only differentiates this game from the first-person game, but also alludes to being software for the Game Boy platform by being a phrase with the initials "G.B.", similar to Konami's "Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel". The "B" standing for "Breed" is very much a homage to '90s top-down shooter series "Alien Breed", itself inspired by the Aliens franchise. In-game screenshot from Game Boy prototype "Aliens: Hunted - Grotesque Breed", very much an early build as evidenced by the lack of detail in the backgrounds, plus lack of core gameplay elements: at present it's a top-down shooter with no shooting nor anything to shoot. The player has just picked up the shotgun, with a message appearing in the game world to both confirm this acquisition plus identify the item in case it was unclear (highly likely as these sprites are tiny...!) In-game screenshot from Game Boy prototype "Aliens: Hunted - Grotesque Breed", a recreation of one of the cafeteria rooms from the first-person game. During the development phase, an attempt was made to enable the player to climb on top of the tables in a similar manner to the player being able to jump onto environmental elements in the first-person game, however this wasn't working as intended so has been removed for the time being. Squint a bit and you will notice the player is holding the flamethrower - that flame animates in-game.
