Technologist and technology market expert. Very proud dad and husband who also loves movies, music, language, science.
So this is really good. In a @traefik.io presentation at the #KubeCon Tech Field Day Exclusive they say that an(y) #AI interface is an API at its root and must be (a) treated as an API but ALSO (b) managed as an API _including in the prompt._ AI application-layer routing!

Keynote at #KubeCon just started. It’s good for a community to congratulate its achievements and look ahead optimistically to what’s next. If anything else pops I will post it here or in LinkedIn

Starting off NetApp INSIGHT today at the morning keynote, CEO George Kurian calls this “the era of data-enabled intelligence” and says the data challenge is that “80% of the time on an AI project is spent wrangling data”

Gotta admit that this is one of the better-designed pins I’ve seen. I might wear it!

At NetApp INSIGHT in Vegas this week, thanks to NetApp and @techfieldday.com. Keynotes about to start, I’ll let you know whatever interesting comes up

I’m at @techfieldday.com’s AI Infrastructure Field Day … @broadcom.bsky.social presenting. In two slides, how they do data center–to-DC(-to-DC) networking for large-scale applications and services. Pretty impressive

PopUp Mainframe is a way to emulate z/OS application runtimes outside of the production mainframes themselves. Which sounds simple enough. But what starts off looking like a useful emulator, before you know it is implementing CI/CD for the mainframe #TFDx #SHARECleveland2025

It makes sense to me that APM on mainframes may have languished, if for different reasons. @broadcom.bsky.social’s Petr Klomfar says that because of the commoditization of compute, “We have let our guard down” in mainframe APM. On standard infrastructure I think it’s for much different reasons

The blue hue is a protective screen of some kind. Maybe they’re working on the stained glass

Qlikbait! (Apologies.) Love Katie Ledecky as a consistent and hard-working athlete with both great success and an unassuming, welcoming manner. Yay! On stage at #QlikConnect Day 2

So I’m at #QlikConnect today and tomorrow as part of @techfieldday.com’s coverage, sponsored by the conference.

Qlik is, in a lot of ways, a pretty close community that has been doing analytics and #AI for a very, very long time; with a focus on quality and service to data scientists

Interesting. Adding closed-loop liquid cooling increases by 100–150W the operating range of a 1U server (where there’s no room for massive heat sinks). Funly, it is still called “air cooling” because it’s still fans doing the cooling—the liquid transfers the heat to them
