As a member of @model-ad.bsky.social it pains me to acknowledge that @niagads.bsky.social won the #AAIC25 swag battle. Well played!

And here's how well your team has drafted given who was available at the time (based on career WS data from bbref). League average for making the best possible choice is only 10.8%.

Anyone know the appropriate ceremony for the death of a spider that has been living in your sink for the past six weeks?

RIP, you

I taught these cows how to change a flat bike tire. They were very polite.

I always thought this tree was perfectly situated where it stood along a carriage road in Acadia National Park.

The trip to Russia involves three close calls:

- Mayotte at the entry to the Mozambique Channel
- Seguam Island (population: 1) in the Aluetians
- a small island in the Karaginsky Gulf, about 60 km from the mainland

That's further than the UK to NZ trip, but for real distance start in Karachi.

A heading of 154.8° gets you almost 25,000 km of clear sailing until you arrive at Salina Cruz, Mexico.

But aim your boat 211.9° and you won't hit anything until Kamchatka after over 32,000 km; 80% of a great circle!

They might especially admire how I avoided two small islands off Nova Scotia on my way to visit them.

So of course I wondered how far I could get from where I live. Turns out a heading of 119.5° would get me to Penong, South Australia after 22,295 km, where I'm sure I would be greeted with great fanfare by its 280 residents.

Fun problem! Start from Penzance at a heading of 210° and you'll hit NZ after about 20,600 km, just past the antipode.
