HLA-B*15:01 has been linked to protection from severe COVID, but this is not fool-proof. B*15+ individuals can still succumb to severe infections. Check out a recent study from Prof Kedzierska's lab 👇🏼 showing a lack of public TCR usage in B*15+ patients with severe COVID.

Happy Day of Immunology! I was delighted to host members of the public here at The Doherty Institute @thedohertyinst.bsky.social and guide a tour to showcase our research and teaching facilities, and give an overview of my research on how #pregnancy changes the immune system.

What an insightful and inspiring panel discussion for International Women's Day. A timely reminder that we stand on the shoulders of giants who have paved the way for #WomenInSTEM, something we should not take for granted.

Thanks to the SBS and the EMCRA association for hosting 🌸
