Pope Leo XIV just did what almost no one in power will do: he told tech giants that AI built for profit alone is a threat to human dignity.

This isn’t anti-technology.

It’s a demand that the most powerful machines on earth answer to something higher than the market.
Pope Leo: AI Must Serve Humanity — Not Just the Powerful Few
In a message to tech leaders, Leo insists that artificial intelligence be guided by ethics and serve the common good. It’s one of his major theme — one that’s earned him ridicule from Silicon Valley.

To me, the real story here is that #Haiti has made it to the World Cup. Good luck to them !

As for the occupant of the White House being awarded the #FIFA peace price…it’s farcical, cringeworthy and not worthy of any further comment.

I used to love America.

Infatuated like a love stricken teenager,

I loved her landscapes, food and shining sea…

A shining sea for the land of the free.

What remains are memories.

Good memories, of a place

Which now stares back with an evil, orange face…

Trump: This word is common in the UK to mean a fart, derived from the sound of a trumpet, and is used as both a verb ("he suddenly trumped next to me in bed") and a noun. It is particularly popular in Scotland and the northern parts of England.

In what English-speaking communities does "trump" refer to the breaking of wind?
It is clear from this site that the verb to trump has been used extensively across Britain to refer to the breaking of wind. It is especially the case in the North, in Wales and certainly in Norfolk,

Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

Irrespective of whether one is Catholic or not, or for that matter religious or not, #PopeLeo ‘s trip to #Lebanon, a country whose population has had to endure so much hardship for such a long time, can only be viewed as a good thing.

Blessed are the peacemakers.
