FB food memories: butterscotch pot de creme. My caption said “The cook always saves one for themself.” That’s true.

When Jesus was asked why there was only one set of footprints in the sand, he replied, “Sand People always ride single file to hide their numbers.”

I posted this in a FB group called San Francisco Remembered. Close to 300k members. A guy commented today saying he lived across the street from “Jacky” (his nickname when he was a kid) saying he would watch him pitch from across the street to a catcher in the garage. Small world

Lots of docs & movies made about the attack, but I’ve always wondered what grandpa Harvey and his crew were thinking this evening 84 years ago. They managed to escape, but it had to be a cumulative feeling of WTF just happened as intel started trickling in (he was a Radioman).

She does. Plus mom took her on a long walk that ended up at the college for 90 minutes of Chuck It.

My wife: “I’m going to pick up my mom and take her to Bath & Body Works”

Me: “Are you getting anything?”

Her: “No, just taking my mom”

Driving through the college campus this morning on my way back from the store and saw this guy (or gal, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️) slowly walking along. He (or she) usually hangs out by one of the ponds. But I guess Saturday is take a stroll day.

This stuff is like water in our house. I usually buy it by the case at Costco. Haven’t tried a flavor yet that I don’t like, and that’s going back to my childhood.

Well, yeah, Mill Valley. This is what happens during a King Tide when the bulk of your infrastructure is built at or below sea level 🤷‍♂️

Time to eat
December 6, 2025 at 10:39 PM
4 smoked pork shanks, 1 lb of red beans, 4 whole jalapeños & 2 Serranos (stems removed), coarse ground black pepper, Lawry’s garlic salt & cumin. The crock pot did the rest overnight.

84 years +1 day ago grandpa Harvey climbed into his rack on his ship, the USS St. Louis in Pearl Harbor (aka The Lucky Lou) not knowing that tomorrow, 12/7/41, all hell would break loose. He died when I was 3, but I know he never spoke of that day until 2 days before he died ❤️⚓️

No pun intended

<not my ship>

We went through seas MUCH rougher than this. To me this says I’m going to sleep like a baby as long as the conn keeps that bow pointed into the swells and out of the trough.

Tomorrow marks the 126th annual matchup. I didn’t go to Annapolis but learned over the years that that doesn’t matter. It’s an all hands on deck day.

Go Navy!

At first we thought she was watching Pluribus with us, but that “fire” seems to sure have her attention. She just lays there staring at it.
