I'm an part of the Destiny community, and I would like to clarify why you're getting this response. Destiny is also doing a lot of political research, and presents himself as a good-faith interlocutor, advocating for his beliefs both vs. the extreme right & left, netting him plenty of enemies. 1/

The council (me) has decided that calling them "skeets" is a dumb, disgusting choice for an app called BlueSky. (and reminiscient of another shitty app we don't need anymore)
I will refer to them as skies from now on and wtf were they even thinking not doing so?

Although tbf I never used twitter actively – still, seems more engaging here than any other SM I tried building up <3

I've been feeling terribly lonely in the online space ever since basically ye ol' Deviantart times, and I think that's because I never jived well with Twitter, and hated the fakeness/undiscoverability on Instagram. It feels like an actual community on BlueSky and I'm honestly so excited.
Bluesky is built to make social more like the Web again, so we will never suppress links. Link to your writing, your art, your personal site — this is the social internet, designed from the ground up to be open and interoperable.
Hard to describe as a journalist how grateful I am to have a text-based app that does not suppress hyperlinks. I don’t know if people realize exactly how hostile the corporate internet has gotten toward news.

I gotta say the engagement on Bluesky over the last few days is better than it ever was on X, where I had about 55,000 followers.
Being able to block anyone into oblivion makes Bluesky better than even pre-Musk Twitter imo.
