Married to Mr H for 34 years, adjusting to life beyond work, opposite of a domestic goddess 😁

I just realised I have neglected to introduce my new grand-puppy. This chaos goblin is Luna, rescued from being given away for dog-fighting by Young'un's boyfriend
The Boy is suddenly a baby-daddy and is trying very hard to do it well
Young'un is a little taken aback but trying to be supportive!

Yesterday Young'un had her first ever stall at a craft fayre. She made cupcakes, cookies, cake pots, sweet bags and handmade cards and things sold really well.
Super proud of her resilience and skill ☺️

From the Bird App this morning.

She's put it in local FB pages but every little helps, I reckon...

You've got to hand it to owls, really. Every other bird species goes for a really long face, owls go "Nah, wide as possible!" and now everyone thinks they're the smartest.

Meanwhile corvids are all like "Old moonhead is 'the clever one'? What the hell, guys!"

Living as we do on a heavy clay soil we're blessed with some stunning oak trees. Very much at their autumn best now, with the sun coming out of the mist to give them a golden glow 🍂 🌳

Making some slippers because it's quick and satisfying and I want to try out a method I read about for making some grippy soles using felt and fabric paint.
One and a half completed so far - two strands of yarn and a 5mm hook, then a standard toe-up sock pattern

This is the sort of social history rabbit hole thread I absolutely adore, but it's also really important...
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵
