that one video of him saying gay stuff in fortnite with all the sound effects will never not make me laugh

you don't treat people with kindness so that they won't follow you home and beat you, you do it because you're both human and it's the right thing to do
November 12, 2025 at 8:22 AM
i didn't see these last three posts but this is kinda the crux of what i disagree with you about. i personally feel like you should treat people the same way online you would in real life, even if there's less consequences for it because that's not really the point.

i haven't read william gibson yet but i believe we already are living in a post-human science fiction world where we can use technology to enhance our lives artificially in ways beyond what is naturally possible -- and transsexuals like us are a prime example of that.
November 12, 2025 at 8:10 AM
also, saying transhumanism doesn't exist as a trans person is insane to me. we use modern medical technology to augment our bodies in order to be who and what we want to be... it doesn't get more transhumanist than that. to me that is the epitome of merging biology and technology.

something on here really is no different than shouting something in the town square for everyone to hear. you have to take into consideration that everything is public and even if you turn off your screen others can still see what you said, so i do think online is real in that sense.
November 12, 2025 at 8:10 AM
just get a new phone or log on with another device and everything you said and everything people said to you will still be there. i agree with you in that social media is like this drip-fed, junk food version of actual human interaction and community for which it can be no substitute, but posting
November 12, 2025 at 8:10 AM
said it to their face. "you can just turn your phone off" doesn't account for how everybody else will still have theirs on and can see what you said and maybe they'll run into you irl and talk about something you posted... yes, you can just throw your phone into the river but you can always
November 12, 2025 at 8:10 AM
you can actually see the person. the anonymous and impersonal nature of the internet often leads people to treat others horribly on here because they forget there is a real person behind the screen; the things you say to them are real, they perceive it the same way they would if someone
November 12, 2025 at 8:10 AM
i see where you're coming from but i feel like this mindset is what leads people to act in ways on the internet they would never act in real life... people say insane, heinous things on here because they feel like it's "not real" and it doesn't have that immediacy that irl interactions have when

34 is really good but nothing will ever beat 23
November 12, 2025 at 7:27 AM
yeah i'm kinda embarrassed to admit how long i pronounced it that way for lol
November 12, 2025 at 7:23 AM
i don't think the irl world and the digital world have to be mutually exclusive, or that we have to draw a strict boundary between them. i think it's best to find a harmony between them if that makes any sense
November 12, 2025 at 7:21 AM
from a transhumanist perspective, i feel like the line between cyberspace and meatspace has grown so blurred as to make the distinction irrelevent. idk i try to be as modern as i can and i'm really into the post-human idea of merging flesh and computer, biology and technology.
November 12, 2025 at 7:21 AM
yeah i think 'fake it till you make it' is genuinely good transition advice and the internet is a good place to start with that but like you said it's a starting point not the endpoint. but also like...
November 12, 2025 at 7:21 AM
which i believe is possible for anyone to do, but it requires an internal decision on their part which most will never be willing to make
November 12, 2025 at 5:47 AM
they quite literally hate Life itself. i know all this because i used to be one of them in my teens so i know how they think. but thankfully in my early twenties I freed my mind from the shackles of this restrictive and regressive worldview and opened my heart,
