"While 92% of undergraduate students are using Generative AI, only 36% said they had been offered support by their university". Wow, that needs to change!

Interesting thoughts!

Can anyone explain why our institutional Open Access rates are consistently lower in Scopus than on OpenAlex? For 2024 it is 58% in Scopus to 68% in OpenAlex, and the difference is 7-11% in previous years. I have ideas but not sure they explain the situation fully.

Imagine hitting a paywall on The New York Times or The Atlantic, and a little popup says "Available through [Your Public Library] - Click to access" and takes you there. Academic libraries have this with browser extensions like LibKey and Lean Library. I wonder if it's a thing for public libraries?

Our May link-out is finally here! Read about libraries as political battlegrounds and as champions of good, get the latest on open access and ChatGPT and find out what the pope thinks about AI. This and more at www.libfocus.com
