Normally, when I finish the first draft of a WIP, I have some time off, write a few short stories, then start the editing.

But not this time! I am genuinely too jazzed about the story, not to get straight back into it!

That’s the first draft of the sequel to Who Watches the Horror? finished!

There was a point last week where I thought I might not do it, but over 11,000 words in the last week has got me to The End. It’s all pretty rough at this stage, but the story is there and I can improve everything as I edit.

I'm not saying I'm good at this horror stuff, but I perfectly predicted the insidious sequence in the train game for season three of Alice in Borderland!

8 carriages.
4 will be filled with poisonous gas.
4 will have air blown into them.

(and I'm saying nothing more, because no spoilers)

Somedays, the sad thing about being a horror writer is that you have a great character, you really enjoy writing, and you still have to kill them off, never to be seen again.

(Although, ok, I sort of broke that rule in Who Watches the Horror?, but I definitely cannot pull that stunt in the sequel!)

I’ve had an amazing September, writing 20,000 words on my WIP, seeing the anthology I have two stories included in be funded on Kickstarter, and signing the contract for my horror novella to be published!
