Prima Facie is being used as a training tool for judges in some parts of the UK. It would be great to see more use of the play as an educational tool for legal professionals in other parts of the world, such as Australia

While there is some research to suggest inattentional blindness can render witnesses as less accurate (under cued recall questioning), the fact that witnesses who experience IB are routinely perceived as less credible - even with these “safeguards” implemented - is concerning. 4/5

We unfortunately did not find that expert evidence improved perceptions of witnesses who experienced IB. We also didn’t find that demonstrating IB to jurors affected perceptions, even among those who experienced IB during the demonstration 3/5

Previous research suggests that witnesses who experience inattentional blindness are perceived negatively: they are perceived as less accurate, credible and honest than witnesses who notice crimes… so can we fix this? 2/5
