Electricity prices! What a shemozzle!

I can't flick a switch without thinking of former LNP PM John Howard's:

"We are firmly of the belief that services are best provided by private industry."

Can you think of 1 instance where privatisation has worked for consumers?

Labor started it in 1991.

There's the list of who needs to be Sacked right there, get some young Detectives into the NACC who can investigate fraud and other crimes and give them the power to Prosecute, what we have now looks more like a retirement home with massive pensions

Come on other states. Get with it.

Oh, and LNP? Go back where you came from. Or your parents, grandparents or earlier ancestors came from.

Opinion | One Nation won’t actually help aggrieved middle-aged men facing real or perceived financial stress. It’s a game Barnaby Joyce knows well, having similarly played rural voters at the Nationals.
What’s going on with Gen X men and One Nation? I'm sick of being told to feel sorry for them

This is so true; we've been conditioned to "believe" with childlike thinking since we learn to walk and talk, that the mind has been trained like Pavlov's dogs. Schools don't teach us to think; they just repeat old data.

Cost-of-living anxiety is real, but the data points elsewhere. Michael Keating on why living standards are mostly flat and housing costs are Australia’s real pressure point, especially for first-home buyers, writes Michael Keating #Auspol #CostOfLiving #HousingCrisis #AustralianEconomy #Productivity
Australia’s cost-of-living crisis has a housing problem
Cost-of-living pressures dominate political debate, but the sharpest strain is not falling incomes. It is housing costs, particularly for first-home buyers, fuelled by stagnant productivity and chronic undersupply where people want to live.

“Full steam ahead” on #AUKUS rhetoric. “Full steam ahead” on the transfer of another $1B of Australian taxpayers’ dollars to US industry. Too bad the US Virginia submarine build rate is stuck at 1 per annum, nowhere near enough to meet the US Navy’s needs, let alone ours. #auspol

The Australian Institute is very effective in pressuring governments.

I just signed their petition to fairly tax gas exports. Please join us and sign now!

🇭🇲🦘🤠
90% of WA's gas is exported by mostly foreign owned gas corporations that pay no PRRT.

Our governments should prioritise the interests of Australians, not gas industry profits.

✍️ Sign our petition and demand that the gas industry pays its fair share:
