Just saw an amazing performance of The Laramie Project at UIS this evening. Had me crying throughout starting with the first image of the fence, remembering all the images on the news at the time, all the discussions on various online BBS and email communities, and the vigils. 😭

Finally both cool enough and dry enough to mow and I wasn’t working overtime this weekend. And since it was me mowing and not the spousal unit, I saved the flowers & milkweed that are spreading into the lawn from an early death. Was also blessed to see the volunteer partridge pea blooming. 🦋🌱🌱

So today I did a thing. Took a gun safety class and learned how to use a gun properly. It’s like learning CPR - learn it and hope you’re never in a situation where you’ll need to use it.
