Southerner in my early 60s, pragmatic in most respects but hipper than I look (or so I think). Dog dad to Molly, a Beagle/Blue Heeler mix we rescued. Enjoys a tasty craft brew, dry humor, and all kinds of music. Cooks a mean chicken bog (IYKYK).
Just finished putting lights up on the exterior of the house. I feel like I got right hooked by Mike Tyson in his prime.

Me too. Saw them often back in the ‘90’s. Extended versions of Whipping Post, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, all of Mountain Jam - great memories.

Years ago my dad had an appliance repair shop. Customer had a chest freezer from the ’60s (25+ yrs old) where the exterior had rusted away (was ON THE FRONT PORCH)…It was so insulated that it still worked perfectly. We’ll never see that again.

Back in the day appliances lasted 20+ years. Was that “device hoarding”? No, it was utilizing well-made, quality products that companies touted for their longevity.

Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often.

But that was so long ago that I can
Scarcely feel the way I felt before
And if time could heal the wounds
I would tear the threads away that I might bleed some more
