The most realistic scene in DS9 is when Gul Dukat whined about how the Bajorans never erected a statue in his honor. A prophetic text.

Happy to have an essay from my forthcoming collection up @literaryhub.bsky.social today! "The time a library lends, I suspect, is a little like love: the more it gives away, the more comes back to it in kind."
On the Infinite Lives of the Library
One might say that a library’s most abundant resource—what it lends most freely—is not books and information but time. Time to think, breathe, be, and become. Last spring, in exchange for my servic…

I’ve been on a Star Trek TOS kick lately, and come to realize that Kirk getting all the ladies seems to be rather mythical.

McCoy and even Spock saw more action.
Was that before or after Kirk banged everything that walked in the Milky Way?

The other night I was idly watching the sixth episode in a new-to-me TV series on Netflix and about 10 minutes before the end of the episode the playback froze. After trying to restart it for a bit I exited and re-opened Netflix and the entire series had disappeared, apparently deleted from the app.

After reading this, I looked up the show. It got great reviews, but COVID hit and the already-greenlit second season was canceled. I guess I’ll stick to the source material.

They canceled Star Trek Lower Decks for CW soap opera HDR aesthetics. Full circlejerk JJ Abrams.

And this is another reason why I canceled Paramount+ after they canceled Late Show with Colbert.

Having just read both books back to back, it is disappointing that the Batman/Deadpool issue isn't getting more love. Both were far more entertaining than I expected them to be and had some really good stories and art.

But Bat & 'Pool fatigue is real; rather enjoyed the other pairings more.

Twin Peaks: Sarah Palmer screams in terror. (Frank Silva a member of the film crew can be seen in the mirror. This was unintentional and considered a happy accident. Frank would later go on to play BOB).

WRITING TIP, something simple but it catches many of us out: if you have a great/fun idea for your story, *use it now*.

Don’t save your ideas for some nebulous other story you might write tomorrow. I promise you’ll have more.

Break your story’s status quo. Go a step further. Use the big idea.
