I never understood why he and Buffy were supposed to be endgame when season 2 of Buffy kind of just showed why they shouldn’t be. I think he was an interesting first love for her but not much beyond that.

His journey is interesting, and I love the premise for his own show. But Spike Supremacy

Vampire October Day 8! Lazlo Cravensworth!

What We Do in the Shadows was one of the best tv series. I was so sad to see it end last year.

I love this character, he’s so goofy and quotable and I identify with him a lot. He loves his wife so much.

And volunteer! Staffing a con usually comes with nice perks like early room booking and free regular badge. It usually doesn’t take too much time out of your control weekend. I’ve been able to attend everything I want to and manage the dealers den at AO.

Honestly she deserved so much better than to be the pretty girl Meyers hated on so we would like the main character more. Her backstory and personality is so much more interesting than Bella.

I haven’t watched much of the tv series Interview with a Vampire (I know, I need to finish it) but I love Jacob Anderson’s portrayal of Louis. ESPECIALLY the update they made to his character so we no longer had a Louis who was once a slave owner (I hate the confederate vampire trope)

Vampire October Day 6! Louis from Interview with a Vampire!

Louis is an interesting character. And a narrator you can’t trust. His struggles to accept his new nature and the fact that he finds pleasure in being a predator while holding onto his human morals is a fun read/watch.

Vampire October Day 5! Marceline from Adventure Time.

I could have a spin off show of just her. She has great dynamics with all the characters, and her ability to just eat the color red and not have to drink blood is a fun play on vampire abilities.

His struggle with his religion and being a man of the cloth vs his own wants is so well written. Seeing him be corrupted by Bev, who’s so good at twisting the words of the Bible, and him buying it because he *wants* to be right and godly makes every rewatch worth it. Go watch Midnight Mass!

Day 4 of Vampire October! Today it’s Father Pruitt from Midnight Mass!

Midnight Mass never mentions the word “vampire”, but they’re drinking blood and can’t step into sunlight, so.

On any rewatch of Midnight Mass he’s my favorite character to watch.

However, I was never a big fan of the ending. I get it’s a kids movie, but even as a kid I thought it was lame that the vampires become human at the end.

My favorite scene is the family of vampires feeding on the cows from the farm and then the farmer finding cows hanging from the rafters after having being vampire cows. That’s 1/3 of my inspiration for when I was creating Hemlock.

Day 3 of Vampire October! Today I am talking about the family of vampires in The Little Vampire.

I would watch this habitually during The Thirteen Nights of Halloween programming. This was such a fun movie premise, a young boy meets a family of vampires with one’s his “age” and helps them.

He’s so much better than Angel because Angel has to be cursed with a soul, and Spike fought for his. He is the definition of “if he wanted to, he would”

And when he gets a soul! He doesn’t expect that to just make everything better between him and Buffy! He understands that he needs to earn trust!

Day 2 of Vampire October! Couldn’t wait to talk about Spike!

I love Spike. He’s my favorite character on Buffy. He just wants to brawl and I love that for him.

He goes through the most change on the show. From Big Bad to Uncle of the Scooby Gang, and realizing that he needs to change.

My favorite iteration of Dracula is between the OG Bela Lugosi himself and Gary Oldman’s Dracula. His sunglasses get me every time (and they did have sunglasses in this period so that part of the costume is accurate.

Bram Stoker wasn’t the first one to write a sexy vampire, but he’s who started all the original tropes. Dracula is rich, opulent, and thinks your man is stupid. (And if he’s a man in a vampire story, he probably is stupid!)
