Hi BlueSky! I’m Henry (they/them) I’m an ecologist, illustrator, and educator based in Chicago, IL. I work at the intersections of art, science, queerness, and education to insight as much radical joy and support in my communities as I can ❤️‍🔥 let’s be some woodland critters in a novel together!
Henry, a bearded non binary person, holds a Black-crowned Night Heron as a part of their research studying Night Heron movement and health. All animals are handled with proper permitting and training. Henry stands in the middle of a group of birders, explaining the ecology of the Black-crowned Night Herons that they study. Bolitoglossa pesrubra, a reddish salamander photographed on a bed of moss in Cero de la Muere Costa Rica. Henry studied these animals and their pathogens during their Masters degree. Strength; an illustration of an Eagle Owl postured in a defense position protecting a luna moth wreathed in aster flowers. This illustration is an homage to the strength of the Queer community and its vastness.
