It is transformative, inherently both ferocious and soft, and it reminds me that I will fight like hell for my community and what I cherish. I hope you feel as much of whatever strength means to you, on your terms, as often as possible.

Just a maelstrom trying to get ourselves to the next point, whatever that may be. Thinking on strength, this posture exhibited by owls and other birds of prey when defending resources and family kept coming to mind. Combined with the moth and asters, it helps me connect to my Queer power.

Strength: inner understanding, radiation of power and compassion…we get to define what strength means to us. Resiliency, rest, grief, joy, softness, saying goodbye, saying hello again, loving and being loved, fury, and laughter…it’s all in there.

Stalks will grow and bloom with the beauty of relationship, stars in the grassland, attracting pollinators so your care may thrive, proliferate and move across the landscape. A foundation. An ecosystem.

The prairie teaches community care; how could it not? Inoculate soils with trust, microbes, and nutrients. Give roots time and authenticity to grow deep and intertwine.
