I wonder what the intersection is between Canadians who think Trump is OK and Canadians whose preferred PM is Poilievre.

Playing around with Copilot and it's clear it's just fancy autocomplete.

Sometimes it does what I want. Longer suggestions are at least half correct, but need lots of editing.

Often it just puts down random useless stuff.

Oh, this is fun. Halifax Water's rates are going up so much now because they burned surpluses to keep the rates artificially low instead of using those surpluses to invest in needed infrastructure, so now we're catching up to 2020 and 2022's lack of investment.

Has any prime minister ever gotten less political value out of a giant investment than Justin Trudeau got from TMX? Obviously environmental groups/voters were never going to like it, and most everyone else just pretends it never happened because it complicates the narrative.

Why is your government still using the platform?
After being given an order from our CRT and instead of doing the right thing, X refused to fully remove a non-consensual intimate image of a BC resident from its platform. Blocking access to the image only within Canada is not enough. These harmful images shouldn’t be available anywhere.

I was out talking to some undergrads today (not in my own dept) and got into a conversation with some engineering students who told me their favourite contract instructor got cut and their work is being graded by AI. "And the AI *sucks*" said one with vehemence. They're mad and they're right to be.

I named my Patreon "The Very Unfunny Leftist" because that's generally the gist of what my delightful critics call me online and it always makes me laugh. "Diet Coke Kathy Griffin" would probably have gotten me in trouble with the law.

An educated society is what will pull us out of our doldrums, but when the going gets a little tough, we cut education.

It's like eating the seeds for next year's plantings when facing a little hunger.

As a Canadian, I can’t help seeing this as a flagrant act of cultural aggression and appropriation. (You know. On top of the horror of it all.)

I've observed this while waiting at my kids' bus stop, at a 4 way intersection. Rarely does a driver come to a full and complete stop when there are no other vehicles there.
I’m always confused when people complain about cyclists not stopping at stop signs.

The vast majority of drivers do a “rolling stop” (i.e., they don’t actually stop) when possible.

This is so normal people don’t even see it as breaking the law, but when cyclists do the same thing, it stands out.

Used to be able to preview PDFs in Windows Explorer.

Now I can't unless I go into the menu for the file and click 'unblock'.

I wonder if this new 'Ask Copilot' button has anything to do with it.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

These are not mutually exclusive issues.

'Cost of living' and 'inequality/poverty' are in many ways the same issue.

'Housing affordability' has a direct impact on 'cost of living'.

'Trump' has a major impact on 'economy'.

'Climate/environment' affects so many other issues in this list.
Top Issue Facing Canada - (Pick 3):

Cost of living: 64%
Economy: 40%
Healthcare: 35%

Trump: 32%
Immigration: 26%
Crime/Safety: 17%
Job Security/Unemployment: 15%
Climate/Environment: 13%
Inequality/Poverty: 13%

How well does Rugby 7s train someone for 15s, or vice versa?

I assume there's some cross training, because some players play both codes, but just from watching, based on the different game flows of the two, I also feel like it's possible be great at 7s and bad at 15s or vice versa.
