Certain pre-workouts hit my acid reflux real bad though, which is unpleasant when lifting. And the niacin or some other supplement makes my skin crawl.

When I'm on the habit better (trying to get back into it) I prefer to work out earlier, before the day wears me down mentally. I also personally feel more invigorated after working out to tackle other stuff. I use pre-workout sometimes just for the extra caffeine boost.
