Woah. I drove for 3 hours today in the Gen 2. The R1T uploaded almost 17 GB of data when I got home on WiFi! My 100 MB per minute of driving ballpark estimate isn’t far off…

Food for Thought: Next week, Rivian will show off advanced autonomy features that will eventually make it into Rivian vehicles in 2026+. Since the Gen 2 Quad Launch Edition included lifetime Rivian Autonomy Platform+ (RAP+), it’s safe to say Launch Edition R2 will as well and show its value.

How’d I do? I went ~160 miles round trip at 30 degrees temperatures. It showed 308 miles at 100%.

Taking my son on a college visit today at IU. It’s going to be a cold one, so I’m charging to 100%. The Rivian trip planner says it’s 79 miles each way. Guesses on my remaining miles/percentage when I get home tonight if 100% is 305 miles?

Rivian has filed a patent for a "zonal architecture audio system". Looking at the patent, this appears to be a similar architecture to the Tesla Cybertruck - using the CAN bus to transmit audio throughout the cars ECUs. This would substantially cut down on the wire required to place equipment.
