Hidden in the cap
Is the anguish none can draw;
So your future veils its face,
Shenandoah!
But the streaming beard is shown
(Weird John Brown),
The meteor of the war.

Yeah there is no doubt I would buy this if I were building up a bike right now.

Ok yeah these cranks are awesome. This is exactly what I'd want to run. Shimano style crank spindle but with SRAM direct mount (light, mechanically simple and very strong).

The only thing that can go wrong is if you don't grease the threads properly or somehow damage the shell, but in general it only requires very normal torque to take a part, and nothing is press fit. The only strong clamping force is the NDS crank arm on the spindle (for Shimano).

Yeah that's the best part. It is trivial to get back to a bare BB shell. All you need is a 4mm hex key and one of these:
BBT-19.2 Bottom Bracket Tool — 16-Notch 44 mm OD
Remove and install select bottom brackets with a 16-notch tool fitting, including Shimano® and others.

And $35 is for XT... there are probably cheaper options.

I actually had a Chris King BSA threaded BB on a bike that could be regreased, etc. and I hated it. Would much rather have just thrashed it and paid $35 for a new one when it died.

They are arguably the easiest to work on (standard threaded external BBs). There's no pullers required. Huge fan of the old school Shimano set ups. They are so cheap that if it gets crunchy you can throw it away.

(Probably an act of anti-Zionist racism… he just ran out of room.)

This is why we need those full height lockers that you can shove people into.

All it takes is one of those universal studios commercials. “Papa… what’s… Orlando?”
