I saw people organizing a financial boycott for the week of the 4th of July and I think that’s going to be a very important one. We’ve already gone secondhand and aren’t buying nonessentials but spending $0 for a week seems especially powerful.

Musk said that part on twitter. “Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” (This is illegal.)

I think I agree. Petty is cathartic but we can’t water down what’s happening here.
Maybe there’s one that can combine the sentiments 🤔

I am no longer the type of person who enthusiastically supports any mainstream politician. I am incredibly dissatisfied with Dems 99% of the time.
But Bennet and Hickenlooper (or more accurately, the people who work for them) have earned a great deal of my respect over the last few weeks.

Through a professional lens, I do know that the staffers of Colorado’s two senators — Bennet and Hickenlooper — have been incredibly responsive and supportive and are genuinely doing hard work to try to help. I am so incredibly grateful to them for these efforts.

This is just… so incredibly absurd.

The one upside(ish) to Apple is some of the security/privacy. But they’re still complicit.
I’ve used apps and search engines like Ecosia but I’m conditioned to something about how Google provides results. Google feels more efficient. But I’m working on it.
Any suggestions for Drive?

You can build a feed for this, but that process is currently only developer-friendly.
In the meantime, this app basically facilitates the equivalent: skyfeed.app
(Skyfeed is recommended on official Bluesky FAQ pages if you’d like to confirm I’m not sharing random/malicious spam.)

I guess all of this is just to say I’m trying to be more mindful and I think maybe that’s happening? But also PLEASE call me out on my nonsense when you see it.
I want to do better. I need to do better.

Meta is dead to me, I was never on Twitter. TikTok is gone. I’m deeply interwoven with Google and Apple and still trying to figure out how to resolve that.
I’ve also changed my phone to grey scale but I use my phone for reading more than videos and I’m not sure if it’s had much of an effect.

Starbucks was my big one. I drew the line over their union busting three or four years ago. I had been giving them thousands of dollars every year — sometimes buying 2-3 items per visit and/or visiting multiple times a day. I will never, ever give them a penny more.
Everything Meta is next.
