🧵This is a reminder that technology is a tool. All algorithmic relationships are transactional. They are based on the goal and desired outcome of the programmer of the algorithm. The goal of any algorithmic tool is not your goal unless you coded it yourself.

🧵More and more people are turning to technology to address the loneliness and isolation brought about by media algorithms that have by and large divided us, addicted us, and extracted our most precious resource: the minutes and hours that amount to the time of our lives.

It's the addictive algo. You gotta go cold turkey. Bluesky isn't addictive so people come and then go. They get bored and go elsewhere to get their dopamine hit. Or they realize it and start touching grass and reclaiming their life.
