I cracked my breadmaker today for the first time since my stroke and made a loaf of stuffing bread that is now cubed and waiting to be toasted into croutons which will be turned into low fat, low sodium Thanksgiving stuffing.

And a pic of the gluten-free (my OT is gluten sensitive) Boston Cream poke cake I made yesterday and took in today as a thank you.

Final OT session in the books. All goals achieved. 👍 I'm happy to be where I'm at in my recovery and am so grateful for all Baileigh (my OT), Luke and Lori (who worked with me each for a session when Baileigh was out), all the wonderful assistants (especially Noah, who seemed to get stuck with me more than anybody, whether it be in OT, PT, or even at the front desk), and for everyone at Athletico for being such great supportive human beings who went above and beyond, for maybe far too long, to help me through this process, from making custom puzzles (Baileigh) to my own special obstacle courses (Avery and Liz), to listening to me ramble about everything from durian to digitalis. I'm eternally grateful and will miss them all greatly. Now for a nap, because my neurodivergent brain decided that last night was a good time to throw out random bits of trivia all night, like the fact that both Bill Nye's mother and Tony Randall were WWII code breakers, and Tony Randall used to do song and dance numbers on the desks to boost morale. Also, Buddy Holly's birth certificate said he was a girl and the reason he, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens were on the plane that crashed causing their death is because they wanted to get to the next tour stop early so they had time to rest and do laundry. So, we have dirty underwear to thank for both La Bamba starring Lou Diamond Phillips and American Pie by Don McLean. (He drove his Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry...🤷‍♀️ This is my life. 🤦‍♀️🤣) And something I've learned through all this is to maybe prioritize my needs a bit more than I have in the past, and rest is self-care, not laziness.

I graduated from PT today! My toe-up on my affected leg isn't at 0% (it's at 8%), but it's equivalent to the measurement on my good leg when I started, so my gait will still be pretty smooth. I am actually super happy, because today isn't my best day, and it's still that good, which is amazing to me, because not only am I dealing with spasticity and neuropathy in that leg from my stroke, but I haven't walked flat-footed on it in years due to a pre-existing muscle tear which healed with significant scar tissue. It's sad to say goodbye to my entire PT crew who has helped me over the last few months, but I am very grateful for all they've done for me, and I will get to see them off and on as I finish up my last few OT sessions over the coming weeks. A big thank you to Brynn, Avery, Shea, Liz, and all the assistants (Noah, Becca, Drew, Sean, Sam, and others I know I'm forgetting)! ❤

I did a thing...Homemade ricotta gnocchi and homemade sauce with herbs from my garden, spinach, and mushrooms. Putting all that putty play from OT into practice.

I have had it up to around my ears maybe twice (hated both styles) and down below my butt as a kid. I usually keep it anywhere from just below my chin to below my shoulder blades, but we're planning on going something like this tomorrow.

My niece is due with great-niece #3 in a few weeks (if she doesn'tmake an early appearance), so we dropped off baby gifts last week. My mom has been making sure all the great-grands get a quilt. This is the one she made for Baby L. (There were bibs, washcloths, and receiving blankets to match.)
