2/10 Guilbeault was stunned. The #MOU included a "carve-out" for Alberta on clean electricity regulations.

It hadn't been discussed in cabinet. Liberal MPs hadn't been briefed.

They were told Alberta would beef up carbon pricing. The reality was a trade for a pipeline that would never get built.

6/10 By Wednesday, the betrayal deepened. The Liberals were reneging on a pledge to Elizabeth May to exclude fossil fuel subsidies for oil recovery.

Guilbeault had fought to remove it from the budget. Now, it was back.

If the Liberals' word meant nothing to their allies, what was left?

So, what's next for the Alberta Forever Canada petition now that it's formally successful?

Once some formalities are addressed, it goes the the legislature for politicians to determine if it will be treated as a policy proposal or a referendum.
