Soooo... My stepdaughter saw that I was reading this and told me she had to put it down half-way because it was too dark. It was shockingly dark. I don't think you can like this book, only tolerate it or not, which I did. I will read the sequel, but nor for a while. #Booksky

One of the problems with starting reading again after 40 years is finding new authors of interest. I don’t remember who recommended Dark Matter, but I enjoyed that book, so I picked up this one up also. Maybe not quite as good but still enjoyable. #booksky

My profile says former submariner (don't know if that counts). Anyway, I'm in the middle of the photo having a bad "air" day on the mess decks of the USS Henry L Stimson SSBN 655 probably around 1980.

Book eleven of my Vonnegut Infusion-reunion. Because I’m running a fever I’m not getting chemo today but they decided to infuse some fluids into me, so it will be a short read. Another book that he wrote after I stopped reading, so new to me.

So many great Vonnegut quotes! I'm currently rereading all his novels. Just read Man Without A Country (not a novel) where he has a chapter about being a humanist. Apparently Isaac Asimov was honorary president before him. Great minds!

Book ten of my Vonnegut Infusion-reunion. I read most of his books originally as a teen and later in the Navy, but I pretty much stopped reading when I started college in the early 80’s. This was published in 1982 so it’s one I’m reading for the first time. We’ll see how it goes. #booksky

Not my usual kind of read, but this was a pretty compelling account of Americans colluding with Nazi Germany to disseminate fascist and anti-semitic propaganda and stockpile weapons to topple our government during Hitler's rise to power in the 30's, and the unsung heroes that tracked them. #booksky

My IPhone says this is a Bearded Iris. Not my area of expertise so I’ll defer. It says they bloom in mid to late spring, which it did, but I guess once wasn’t enough, so here it is again. Don’t know how it got in to my yard but it’s a beautiful flower.

A few photos from No Kings Summerville, South Carolina. Managed three hours but I guess I'm passed the standing in the heat phase of my chemo - had to leave a little early. The response from the very busy Main St traffic was overwhelmingly positive, which makes me wonder how red this area really is.

Just finished Player Piano and starting Termination Shock. I don't remember where I got the recommendation for it so we'll see.

Book nine of my Vonnegut infusion-reunion. Finally got to his first novel from way back in 1952. So far good but a different feel than l’m used to from his books. We’ll see how it turns out. #booksky

Picked this up Goodwill a while ago. Though almost 30 y/o it was beautifully written, full of humor and history. Definitely recommend it. A Goodwill drawback though, I was extremely allergic to the book, and couldn’t wipe off whatever was getting to me. Previous owner must have been a cat. #booksky
