One of my favourite trees - a Scots pine near Arrochar. The picture doesn't do it justice, though. It is truly monumental and shelters many other plants.
Partial picture of an old, huge tree, looking up from the tree trunk to the sky.

Hannah Arendt über die Gleichschaltung.

The current problems with the website could be a lingering impact of last year´s cyber attack, though.

A lot of rain these days, interspersed with moments of dramatic spots of sunshine and light.

Very fascinated by the multiple historical layers of Málaga.
View from the old fortifications of Málaga towards the sea, with gardens, a nineteenth-building, modern tower blocks, the lighthouse and a huge cruise ship.

A quotation by Robert Owen at his textile mill in New Lanark, a British UNESCO world heritage side.
Sign with the text "Charity and kindness admit of no exception. They extend to every child of man, however he may have been taught, however he may have been trained. They consider not what country gave him birth, what may be his complexion... Robert Owen.

"the first English translation of Mirdja (1908), a remarkable work of Decadent literature by Finnish author L. Onerva ( 1882–1972). Onerva was one of the most versatile literary figures of her generation. her novel Mirdja is among the most important works of Nordic fin-de-siècle literature." Yeah!

I made hundreds of pictures of #birds on #Orkney. Hard to choose, but here are four.
Great Skua in flight over water. Gannet in flight in front of a cloudy sky. Fulmar coming in to land, in front of a grey sky. A group of four sanderlings on the beach at Skaill Bay, Orkney.
