With all the excitement around the new Star Wars Theatrical Release for the 50th in 2027, I though it would be cool to share this little gem. I found this cat back during the pandemic when I was working on his incredible restoration for A New Hope. I’m pretty sure Disney partnered with him.
Let the Xmas Movies begin. I was kinda blown away by Black Christmas. Was not expecting that at all. It’s an actual film.

These ATMs that you find all over NYC and more specifically, Manhattan, always look so cool. Almost like a film prop. They rarely seem to be in working order, but what they make up in functionality, they make up for in vibes. The always give some level of Cyberpunk dystopian capitalist nightmare.

Finally watching Manhattan for the first time. Wow! It is magical. The city and the way it's shot are really quintessential New York. How you could watch this and not wanna be here is hard to fathom. But holy shit, does this movie remind me why I hate Woody Allen? He is so gross, even back then.

Lifeforce is so criminally underrated. I know it has its problems and there’s a lot of 80s camp in there but it’s great. Tobe Hooper was underwater. But such a smart, creative spin on the genre of vampires and zombies. The it all relates back to the AIDS epidemic. Plus that soundtrack, oh my God.

And we’re back. Still think the show should have done a big time jump. The kids in college, Hawkins is a quarantine, the government trying to cover things up, Demi-beasts are getting out and spreading. Just would have given them much more option from a story standpoint and the kids ages would work.

Good stuff here lately. I was actually quite surprised by Frankenstein. The Academy needs to tighten up its qualification for consideration. I love that the film exists but it’s a crime that it was barely released just to make it over the low hurdle set for Oscars. I want it large, filling my eyes.

I got a few likes on this comment so I’d like to point out something I find interesting. The scene I mention is a prime example what is wrong with the Disney era of SW. They’re so wrapped up in throwing out nostalgia and “I this moment” that when a truly genuine and earned moment presents itself…
Yeah, right up to the part where Leia and Chewie just passed like ships in the night after Han was just murdered by the kid they all raised together. It as if they didn’t even know each other for almost 40 years. That no one on set was screaming how wrong that was is beyond me.
