SF to NYC based creative. Attempting to keep it low-key so I can curate the stuff that I like without the normies and mutuals getting in a twist. Hot takes n' more. DMs usually open.

Fuck this guy.
Yeah no shit, joy leach. The thing people want is the original film without major changes. If the SE had just been the fixes you seem to be relishing in pointing out will be in the this version, there wouldn't need to be a theatrical release because it wouldn't have been a problem.

Let the Xmas Movies begin. I was kinda blown away by Black Christmas. Was not expecting that at all. It’s an actual film.
Klute (1971)
Wicked For Good (2025)
Name of the Rose (1986)
Black Christmas (1974)

These ATMs that you find all over NYC and more specifically, Manhattan, always look so cool. Almost like a film prop. They rarely seem to be in working order, but what they make up in functionality, they make up for in vibes. The always give some level of Cyberpunk dystopian capitalist nightmare.

And we’re back. Still think the show should have done a big time jump. The kids in college, Hawkins is a quarantine, the government trying to cover things up, Demi-beasts are getting out and spreading. Just would have given them much more option from a story standpoint and the kids ages would work.

Good stuff here lately. I was actually quite surprised by Frankenstein. The Academy needs to tighten up its qualification for consideration. I love that the film exists but it’s a crime that it was barely released just to make it over the low hurdle set for Oscars. I want it large, filling my eyes.

Notice the light play across the miniature foreground set to match the moving lights on the flashlights full-size background set. And then Dietrich is moving her light on screen left as a 1:1 practical light. So much visual storytelling working at full blast to sell the shot. In 1985 for 18 million.

No matter how many times I watch it, can never fully mentally work out the geometry and reality of this shot from Aliens. Like I think this is the line between model and the set, but like you would never know that it’s this a model and set in the same camera shot all shot together at once.

Okay, so now that I dipped my toes back into the world of Castlevania again. I'm gonna play through the entire 2D catalog excluding non-canon games and the og Gameboy releases. No loss there, those titles are moatly ugly and won't keep my attention. Cue Bloody Tears:

No matter how many times I beat Castlevania IV, I never get tired of it. Especially the ending music. Talk about nailing it with so little. it really makes you respect how much heavy lifting those pixels were doing.
