We've released the Berkeley Earth temperature update for January 2025: berkeleyearth.org/ja...

It was the warmest January on record at 1.64C above preindustrial levels, and 0.09°C above the prior record set in 2024.

Not surprisingly, the number of California weather stations reporting extreme precip in the past few days has continued to grow. Now we're up to 21 stations rising to R-Cat levels w/ Four Trees at 16 inches (>400 mm) in past 3 days. A few in northern Cal Coastal Rg but mostly in northern Sierra.
