Officially I don’t get the new title (see ☝🏻) Jan 24th but I’ve done all the work, the examiners are happy, and the university will tell you so if you write and ask, so I’m rolling with it.

I’ve only written one book that sold more than 2000 copies on the global market, and that wasn’t the one the publishers translated into Chinese. Nonetheless, all the books were deemed a success. (I’m in tech writing though which is a small niche and shrinking)
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
