The original cross placed in the Nab on July 1st. 1916. It "disappeared" , but the thoughts remain, and a new cross took its place

Of the many treasures in the case the one that got me the most was a simple diary, starting in Dublin, via a swim in the River Somme to standing by at Ramos farm, it lists 112 location, 111 visited, the last " on Anglu" I cannot find, before at Manacourt, after sunken Road Heudecourt.

Opening the case revealed things I knew nothing about, the medals I eventually had framed, and the research started until the point I had to go visit his grave. A family holiday to France, a drive to his grave at Inchy, a call at Thiepval, cemeteries, and a crater, and life changed

It' some 40 years this case came into my possession following the death of my grandfather, all I knew about the man in the picture was "he was my brother Percy, killed in the Great War"

It never crossed my mind how this case would change my life.

What its all about really, became *lost* in a another place X and need to remind what matters !
