Maybe consider stop being uncritical megaphones for the utter "pulled out of their arses" nonsense figures and pronouncements of these totally scamming bullshit merchants.

Yep. Prompting an AI slop machine to write a song doesn't make anyone a musician, any more than asking an actual musician to write a song to order does.

That's not being a musician, it's being a client or patron. 🤷‍♂️

Amusingly, the French use the phrase “filer à l'anglaise” ("to leave English style") to describe the same action. 😉

I always knew it as the “Irish goodbye/exit” - it’s my fave method to escape from work parties when it’s more pragmatic to slip away unnoticed rather than risk being bailed up.

Very cool and dramatic supercell footage. 😎

The UFO reference they titled it with is needlessly deceptive though. It looks amazing without having to gussy it up. Unless to them "UFO" means "pile of shaving cream", or *checks notes" "storm clouds". 😉

I was rewatching the original Hitchhikers series last week so immediately thought of the Dentrassi shipboard catering too. 😉

A bloomin' short blooming period, as my nan would have said. 😉

Was fascinating watching that storm sweep from west to east on radar, missing us completely just a bit further south.

Bad night for electrickery- we lost power for a bit earlier this evening (no outage scheduled, so maybe an accident) then the NBN went offline but came back again maybe half an hour later…

... and my mate, who moved up to a rural place outside Daylesford, only found out after she'd passed a few years ago that Saskia Post, who played Anna, was basically his neighbour.

Aha! Cool! 😎

The mate who helped find the house and I had weird connections to Dogs decades years later. I used to live in Elwood but it was only shortly before I moved out (after many years) that I learned Sam Sejavka, the guy Hutchence' character was based on, lived on my street...

Ha, totally fair! And hey, Victoria's first 7-11!

Dogs in Space is the reason that to this day whenever "Ballarat" is heard amongst certain friends, we all repeat it as said by various Dogs characters. 🤪

(I might do the original Mad Max now instead, based on where a few non-west scenes were done.)

Ah, beat me to it. Still have a bit of wood that was part of the upstairs balcony kicked out by one of the characters - souvenired it from a pile of debris in front when we hunted the then-abandoned house down (pre-internet detective work!) before it was finally sold and gentrified up the wazoo.

As a parent of two teens, who don't know how bloody lucky they are to have even grown up in a home with a dishwasher in the first place, I endorse this message.

Even the existence of the comma in the second line of the crossed out text is wrong. 😂

My best mate had a flat on Crimea St a few blocks south and even he went there rarely.

It was an odd pocket - very quiet, but back then there was also a popular smack dealer in some flats around the corner on Wellington St, so my mate's car got broken into weekly by opportunistic junkies en route.

"All right, this is the plan. We get in there and get wrecked, then we eat a pork pie, then we drop a couple of Surmontil-50s each. That means we'll miss out on Monday but come up smiling Tuesday morning."

When I am finally made God King Emperor, this will be a hanging offence. 🤬

Ah, the old Dick Witt… 😜

Used to pass by there all the time, walking from home (at the time Argyle St in St Kilda) to Prahran Market to get the fruit and veg in. Weirdly I think I only drank there maybe three times in about five or six years of passing by.

Prevention’s basslines kind of sucked in comparison though… 😉
