With the release of Alien Earth just around the corner I was reminded that I hadn’t posted the larger Xenomorph piece I painted - which was partly cropped (and scarred) in my Romulus poster artwork.

In the this image you’ll see a shot from another part of my moodboard which focuses on Soundwaves alt mode. I knew I wanted to feature his micro cassette alt mode in some fashion - early on I experimented with a background of multiple cassettes and unspooled tape but it came off as too noisy.

In the this image you’ll see a shot from my moodboard for Soundwave himself. As I mentioned in my last post I wanted to capture the illustrated style of the characters as seen on the original 80s boxart, so keeping a keen eye on those key art piece was crucial.

I’m half way through two new contrasting pieces, as you can possibly see this one is has some really moody lighting and is quite complex - more armor! The other is very colourful, bold and stylised! Hopefully I’ll have at least one complete for ComicCon Midlands
