That kinda makes me think of P3 Portable, where the game became much faster because all of the non-dungeon sections became menus. Probably shaved like 20 hours off of the runtime of the game.

The time I ran it we couldn't stop talking about how well it worked afterwards. No one expected it to be bad ofc, but it shot so far past our expectations that we still talk about how good it is from time to time.

I'll admit I haven't gotten to play it often, or in a while, but I feel like it did such an excellent job of capturing the feeling of having a fish on the line, everything clicked into place better than anyone in my group thought it would just from reading the rules.
