Jonathan Ong’s research focuses on the moral and political consequences of media and digital technologies, particularly technological interventions in the context of development, humanitarianism, media and democracy in the Global Majority. He was a Co-Editor of the journal Television & New Media.

Wen Jin’s book “Pluralist Universalism” (2012) offers comparative readings of American, Chinese, and Chinese American fiction, while “Qinggan Shidai” (2024) deals with theories and representations of affect in the 18th-century. She now focuses on the effects of reading in digital media culture.
