Haven’t seen You’re a Big Boy Now, but I regard 1967s Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad (yeah, that’s really the title, and it even has a catchy song!) as a companion piece to The Loved One. Both feature Robert Morse and are super dark comedies.

Does this happen often enough that it’s a thing?! Thankfully, I’ve never encountered margin notes/highlighting in a 2nd hand book, tho I did once purchase one with a carefully removed spine (which was hidden by the dust jacket)
