Suspect my sarcasm was misunderstood.

However Congress absolutely certifies the presidential election.

If you are coming with that level of condescension it is extra embarrassing when you are wrong.

Congress certifies Trump's 2024 win, without the Jan. 6 mob violence of four years ago
Lawmakers convened under heavy security and a snowstorm to certify the vote Monday, with the reading of the electoral results from the states coming swiftly.

I am blaming all of DC and the inefficiency they operate it.

It is in your imagination that the enough Republicans (9-10) wouldn't have voted for it to get to 60. It passed unanimously on the first vote, but leadership wouldn't bring it to the floor for a vote earlier because of 1 objection.

Breaking their oath to the constitution in certifying a President, sure sounds like insurrection.

I mean the crowds calling for congress to not vote to certify the last one is the basis for why many of them were charged, right?
January 6, 2025 at 8:02 PM
It passed the House by 98%, once leadership brought it to the floor of the Senate it passed unanimously. 60 votes in the Senate to overrule his hold never was the problem if they had put if forward for a vote.

Why didn't they try for the 60 votes? because they were using it as leverage elsewhere.

Curious, does that make those who voted to certify his election also Insurrectionists or maybe guilty of conspiracy to aid an insurrection?

These are both cases where the condemnation and calls for accountability should be universal and non-partisan.

There is no excuse for not being on the side of condemnation or accountability for all those who failed these kids. Even those involved disagree on other issues.
January 6, 2025 at 7:15 PM
The Church abuse scandals involved pure evil in their coverup. Any child rape is evil, but the church failures were disappointing in the expectations they should have.

I have spoken and written about that extensively, but not since being on here in the past few weeks.

It is always about the kids.

Cool. I don't much care about his motivations in this specific tragedy to be honest. We need more passionate voices calling for accountability for not only the rape gangs but also the officers who stood aside and the whole string of bureaucrats and politicians whose job was to protect those girls.
January 6, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Not sure if he will. I think if he doesn't release them it will be very telling just as the fact Biden has refused to is very telling.

This isn't a partisan issue. Trump, Epstein & the Clintons all ran in the same NY social circles. Still surprised nothing leaked when Trump cut Epstein out of his.
January 6, 2025 at 6:39 PM
As for the response to the rape gangs. You can try to lessen it by calling it "grooming" but minors can't consent so whenever they are involved lets just use the proper word of Rape.

The failures were so ugly and evil that improvement isn't to be celebrated without accountability.
January 6, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Excellent question. Not sure I have seen any reports of Elon knowing him. I hope Trump reverses Biden's stance on keeping the Epstein files secret and releases them in full.

I don't trust selective leaks, let the full files come out and transparency reign.
January 6, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Is it really a debate? That would imply large groups of people support what happened.

We simply all should condemn the actions that allowed it and passionately focus on accountability and ensuring it doesn't continue in the future.

So the exact same thing was in a standalone bill and the omnibus.

This isn't the first time he has taken this stand it has happened many times before.

Within hours of it being pulled out of the omnibus bill Paul lifted his objection on the standalone and it passed unanimously.
January 4, 2025 at 5:16 AM
Dem leadership could have agreed to only allow the standalone at any point in the past half year, but they don't want the end of double dipping.
January 3, 2025 at 6:29 AM
He blocked because there were 2 versions of the same bill. Once the omnibus version was removed, he took his block off the standalone.

Double dipping allows $ advocated for "kids' cancer" in the omnibus to be used on other items in the omnibus instead. It is a deceptive spending technique.

It was controversial at the time, but did allow some Jews to buy their way out of Nazi Germany before things escalated in a major way.

So he would be a supporter of Israel and not the side that has vowed to wipe Israeli Jews off the map? That is one take.

Would Hitler support this move?
